Some extreme fly fishing. This movie is a well done adaptation of a fairly good short story. The cinematography is excellent and Redford's voice overs are perfect. I love how he puts his smokes under his hat...A worthwhile Sportsmen's movie.
I don't watch much TV and I don't really have time for movies... I've never watched this in its entirety, but having watched this clip, I think I might have to move that one up on the list.
I could always relate to the stern but loving father of Scottish extraction. Besides using cane rods, the most beautiful part of this movie is the wet-wading... something that most no longer do. In some waters, wet-wading is impossible without introducing severe hypothermia, but many wear waders year-round. I try to stay out of them when possible.
James-"Under the rocks are the words" Bear-A great film for outdoor cinematography and some very moving story line. YWP- I knew you had seen this You too M. Lane
My favorite scene is at the end when Redford does the soliloquy about being old. As I enter the two minute drill of my own life it rings so true.

The book is a great read, well written... "Once more, half as long."
ReplyDeleteMy wife would much rather watch Pitt than read the book. Can't figure out why.
